Software Engineer Job Description:

Our Client located in San Diego, CA is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to support continued growth. This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity.

The Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible for development, testing, and modification of embedded code, utility / diagnostic software, and interface applications. This will include definition of program structure and memory layout and demonstration and integration of proof-of-concept codes for requested embedded software changes.

The Sr. Software Engineer will assist in the definition of company development standards, methodologies, and tools, and document work as required by company policy.

Required Experience:
- Perform project investigation and analysis.
- Define design input requirements.
- Layout program structure and memory allocation.
- Program, test, and debug software projects.
- Coordinate programming and testing activities within a project team.
- Provide updates on project deadlines and timeliness.
- Ensure thorough documentation of project activities.
- Research new technologies and offer recommendations for system enhancements.
- Programming Languages/Environments: C, VB6, Embedded Linux
- Additional desirable experience: Interrupt handling, USB/wireless/serial communications, peripheral drivers, DLL' multithreaded, Linux kernel, GUI toolkit, and secure programming
