Component Engineer
Position Title: Sr. Component Engineer
Responsibilities:
Candidates in this role will support parts control board activities with internal design engineers, external subcontractors/vendors and sponsor EEE parts selection, screening and qualification, and approval. Candidates will also be responsible for the generation, review and disposition of part discrepancy forms including supporting MRB activities associated with part failures from DPA, screening or qualifications. Additionally, one must generate test travelers and review test data from vendors and in-house customers while coordinating with those test houses. Candidates will generate SCDs associated with parts procurement, as well as generate and review part requisitions. This includes providing information regarding quantities required for testing, sole source justifications and general purchase order requirements. Finally, one will provide support in the development of internal process and procedures, as well as support correct active generation and close-out.
Qualifications: - B.S. degree in Math or Science (Related degrees accepted as well) - 8-10 years experience with EEE parts engineering - Comprehensive knowledge of EEE parts engineering activities for NASA space flight programs - Knowledge and application of NASA documents and policies: EEE-INST-002, PPL-21, parts selection, derating and test. - Must be able to work in a team environment and effective interpersonal skills. - Highly motivated and high initiative - Proficient with Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Desired: - Supervisory or other line management experience - Knowledge of Materials Engineering and/or Radiation effects (TID, SEE, ELDRs) MIL-HDBK-1546 & 1547, EVM, Microsoft Project, VISIO, Real-Time database systems and understanding of AS9100 requirements - Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
