Mechanical coordinator-drafter/designer
Company Background:
Our client provides mechanical services through out the Washington DC Metropolitan area. These services include new construction, renovation and maintenance of HVAC and Plumbing systems for plan/spec, design/build and design/assist commercial and high-rise residential buildings.
This mechanical contracting company is full service design build and installation. They have an immediate need for a CAD Coordinator to join an existing team of 4 design/drafters. This company experiences very little attrition and is ready to make a hire immediately.
DUTIES:
Candidates will be involved in the coordination process. Will be working with engineers, architects, and other subcontractors. This person will be involved in the CAD drafting and design piece, too. Will be working heavily with AutoCAD in an office setting drafting and designing mechanical objects (HVAC equipment, piping, etc). This person will also be working hands on to make sure parts are sized and estimated correctly. The majority of their time will be spent working with CAD and drafting, but there will be times where they will use our clients vehicles to travel out to the site and make sure all components are in working order and correct.
Qualifications:
3 + years of experience
AUTOCAD is a MUST
IT IS PREFERRED that the person has experience in the trade or comes from a construction background. This is a hands on position and if you see someone from the trade (HVAC and mechanical based) it is best. TRADE AND CAD EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED.
NO degree is required. This is a design position and a degree is NOT preferred.
Experience MUST come from the mechanical contractor field - NOT from an MEP firm. This is more construction based than anything.
