-Will use STAAD and PLSTower for structural analysis and foundation programs like M-CAD
-Develop and prepare basic one line diagrams, project scopes, and cost estimates for substation projects with guidance of higher level engineers
-Review substation construction drawings such as electrical arrangements, plan and section views, grounding, cable and conduit drawings, and other project documents and verify compliance with appropriate codes and standards
-Utilize the software, STAAD Pro, to perform load calculations for structural foundation of any transmission project can withstand time, pressure, weight, etc.
-Make recommendations for necessary changes to drawings and documents
-Assist higher level engineers in conducting studies such as lightning protection, grounding, and equipment replacement and repair for substations
-Order equipment and material and create bills of material for substation construction with assistance of higher level engineers
-Travel to project sites for walk downs and gathering information to develop the correct requirements for the projects to scope and develop substations
-Provide input to routine construction documents related to scheduling for substation projects
Required Skills for Structural Engineer Job:
- BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN CIVIL OR STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING (ABET)
- MASTER'S DEGREE IN CIVIL OR STRUCTURAL (ABET) WILL COUNT TOWARDS YEAR'S EXPERIENCE
