Solidworks Designer
Seeking a Solidworks Designer / Drafter for a NE San Antonio client. This is 6 month contract-to-hire, Mon - Fri, 1st shift opportunity.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use Solidworks software to design and detail sheet metal components and assemblies.
- Responsible for assembly instructions and/or drawings and coordination of necessary jigging or fixturing in conjunction with design efforts
- Produce bills of material for assemblies
- Train manufacturing personnel on assembly instructions and use of jigging or fixturing for proper assembly of new products.
- Provide support to manufacturing personnel to resolve design issues
- Use proper design principles when incorporating dampers, louvers and bypass areas
- Use proper design principles to incorporate space requirements for components such as fans, coils, heaters, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and assembly.
- Excellent CAD skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- High mechanical aptitude
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Detail oriented with excellent follow-through skills
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum associates degree or equivalent work experience using CAD software for sheet metal design.
- 1 - 5 years experience in engineering design using Solidworks
