Aerospace Engineer - Mechanical
Our client is a global leader in supplying systems and components to the largest Aerospace and Defense companies in the world. Offering services spanning from design and conceptualization to repair and overhauls, our client is constantly expanding its market and profits. In light of their growth they are in immediate need of experienced Aerospace Engineer – Mechanical/Unigraphics.
Aerospace Engineer Duties:
*This position will operate in a research/design/development environment
*Designs and verifies Form, Fit, and Function of rotating and static hardware and assemblies
*Recommend minor design changes to utilize existing material or parts to effect more practical or economical production.
*Insure designs and layouts are accurate, complete, and finished in a timely manner.
*Collaborates with other engineers in establishing manufacturing tolerances, dimensions and standardization of parts or material.
*Generate and maintain Bill of Materials and Parts list.
*Apply engineering design techniques and utilize technical calculations in support of design / experimental activities.
*Demonstrate a concern cost effectiveness, product production and manufacturability in product design.
*Assist in documentation and reporting.
*Interacts with manufacturing and other engineering personnel to define design concepts.
*Develops assembly instructions.
*Adheres to Quality Management System and generates process improvements.
*Utilizes Basis of Work and Best Practices.
*Interacts with customer representatives and produces presentations for customer reviews.
*Performs to assigned budget (cost and schedule)
*Must be able to operate in a fast paced, performance rewarded environment working with numerous projects at one time and multiple deadlines.
Aerospace Engineer Requirements:
*Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
*Expert knowledge and application of Unigraphics (other 3D solid modeling software packages knowledge acceptable as well).
*A minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.
*Ability to perform hand calculations.
*Experience applying GD&T and calculate tolerance stack.
*Experience communicating design intent using engineering layouts
*Must be able to gain Security Clearance
