Design/Test Engineer - Aerospace
Our Client is an industry leader in the research and development of cutting edge Aerospace products. With a large international client base, this employee owned company is experiencing exponential growth. Due to this growth our client is in need of an experienced Aerospace Design Engineer to join their firm and make an immediate impact.
Aerospace Design Engineer *The successful candidate will be a key member of a technically advanced team performing aerospace modeling and simulation, design, test and development *Design wind-tunnel models, airframe systems, UAV systems, rotor systems, full-scale aerospace vehicle mock-ups and test apparatus/mechanisms. *Designs typically involve both metallic and composite structures. *Responsible for conceptual design, including tooling and processes, through prototype fabrication, acceptance test, and delivery. *This will be a dynamic hands-on R&D atmosphere often directing multiple projects. *Must be able to provide detailed CAD models, drawings, specifications, and project/stress reports. *Create functional mechanical designs within the communicated criteria and time frame. *Conceptualize, design and develop system specifications, applying knowledge of technology and materials to produce a design that considers; functionality, appearance, produceability, materials availability, and cost. *Perform these tasks within the communicated criteria and time frame. *Revise designs as required to maintain compliance with the design criteria / specification and maintain maximum shop productivity throughout the project. *Assist in the resolution of problems and delays, in a time frame acceptable to the aircraft/project schedule *Experience with Pro-E, especially surface lofting, and/or Key-Creator is a plus (other 3D solid modeling software packages knowledge acceptable as well).
Aerospace Design Engineer Qualifications: *Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline from an ABET accredited institution. *7-10 years experience in aerospace or automotive industries *Familiarity with design, analysis, manufacture, and testing of metal and composite structures *Familiarity with composite structures, flight vehicles, wind tunnels, rotor and UAV systems, structural testing is also desired *Good communication skills including verbal, written, and drawing abilities. *Ability and willingness to lead and support multiple, fast-paced development projects having demanding performance and schedule requirements. *Must be eligible for Security Clearance.
