Marine HVAC/Piping Designer

Our client's excellence in service and overall product quality has ensured long term growth and expansion benefits. In response to this growth and expansion our client is in immediate need for qualified and experienced Marine Pipe/Piping and HVAC Designers.
Marine HVAC/Piping Designer Responsibilities:
*Create the Detail Design documentation for the various piping systems for the ship design project to which the candidate is assigned.
*Develop ship production related deliverables (i.e. drawings and mfg work packages).
*Assist the Project Lead in developing a cost effective Detail Design.
*Naval design and ship checking experience is preferable.
*A candidate must have a thorough knowledge of accepted design/drafting methods and concepts
*Candidate will also be familiar with basic engineering and design principles relating to a specific area of work.
*Provide design and drafting support to Ship Systems in all areas of mechanical design.
*Experience in developing 3D models and extraction for 2D drawing development is required.
*Provide design support is for the preliminary and contact design stages of design development with detail design familiarity for review of shipyard drawing packages and compliance with specifications and classification rule requirements.
*Prefer candidates proficient in use of applicable CAD equipment, such as AutoCAD or 3D Solid Modeling software.
*Also requires thorough knowledge of accepted design methods and concepts, and must be familiar with engineering, design or other principles relating to a specific area of work.
*Senior level candidates should have technical experience and expertise in the development or modification of complex system designs in the application of engineering principles and design methods.
Marine HVAC/Piping Designer Requirements:
*Requires an associate degree in drafting/engineering technology, or the equivalent in specialized training.
*Minimum of 3 years of hands on drafting/designing experience.
*Effective communication and leadership skills are essential.
*May require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul, including the use of vertical and inclined ladders, and may involve limited kneeling, stooping, standing, etc.
*Ability to obtain Security Clearance Required.
