Software Engineer
Aerotek CE is currently recruiting for a Software Engineer for full-time permanent employment in Stafford, VA.
The Software Engineer will develop high quality software requirements specifications, functional specifications, software design documents and test documents and will lead code reviews. Will also design, implement and integrate dynamic link libraries, GUI modules and other such components to control telecommunications equipment with extreme attention to detail, quality and robustness of software modules. Development platforms include both Windows XP/CE PCs and cellular phones. Familiarity with writing software that resides on a cellular phone is not required, but is a strong plus. This position is expected to lead and solve complex programming and systems engineering issues.
Requirements
- 3+ years of workplace experience designing and developing PC-based (preferably C#) software applications.
- Proficiency with software design methodologies (OOD, OOP), Visual C/C++, MFC, C# (.NET technologies recommended), Win32 API, multithreading, synchronization and blocking mechanisms, database interfacing and design, and hardware control functions.
- Ability to lead projects giving technical direction to one or more engineers.
- Develop requirements definitions, functional specifications and Statements of Work.
- Ability to obtain top level US government security clearances.
- Cellular communication knowledge/experience preferred (e.g., WCDMA, GSM, CDMA 2000, iDEN etc.).
- Technical and/or functional management experience is a plus.
- SQL based database programming and design is a plus.
- Experience with RF, embedded, RTOS, development methodologies (Rational, SQA, etc.) and DSP concepts is a plus.
- Experience writing software residing on a cell phone (e.g., Symbian interfacing) is a strong plus.
Education:
- BSEE/BSCS or Equivalent, MSEE/MSCS preferred.
